Ali G creator Sacha Baron Cohen has signed with a leading Hollywood agent, with high hopes of launching his movie career.
The comic has been picked up by Jimmy Miller, the showbiz mover who helped propel Jim Carrey to stardom.
Miller told trade magazine Variety: "He's got great comedy timing and acting, as well as an already huge European fan base.
"Clearly we think he's going to be a big comedy film star."
Cohen has signed with Miller's Mosaic Media Group, which has also been involved in the production of films - including the recent live-action Scooby-Doo and the current release Bulletproof Monk.
Cohen has only recently launched his US career, with Da Ali G Show garnering reasonable ratings, but lukewarm reviews, for the HBO cable network.
And he already has a track record of film work, with Ali G Indahouse taking £18million of the UK box office, while only costing £4 million to make.
