Brand new show

Jo is heading for Edinburgh

Jo Brand is heading for this year's Edinburgh festival.

Brand - who was nominated for the Perrier award in 1992 - will be performing a new stand-up show, as well as acting in her own play, Mental.

She wrote the drama in 1988 with actress Helen Griffin, drawing on both their experiences as former psychiatric nurses.

Both shows will run for the duration at the Assembly Rooms.

Her agents, Off The Kerb, have also announced that stablemates Simon Evans, Dara O'Briain, Adam Hills, Brendon Burns, Jason John Whitehead, John Bishop, Mark Felgate and Gavin Webster will all be performing full-length shows at the Pleasance.

And Perrier-winner Rich Hall will be performing for just one week, as himself rather than as his jailbird alter-ego Otis Lee Crenshaw.

Previously, Rob Brydon has revealed that he is taking the stage version of Marion And Geoff to the Fringe this August
