Henry plans to revive Chef!

Lenny Henry is planning to revive Chef! after a seven-year absence.

He starred as short-tempered Gareth Blackstock for three series of the culinary sitcom from 1993 to 1996.

But now, he says, the time is right to bring him back given it is the era of the celebrity chef.

"I'm meeting [writer] Peter Tilbury next week," he said during an interview in today's Daily Express.

"They always say you shouldn't go back, but I do like the idea of doing Chef! again."

In the meantime, the new series of Lenny Henry In Pieces starts on BBC1 at 9pm tonight.
