Old as Brass
Chris Morris has said that his controversial Brass Eye programme is unlikely to return.
The notorious special edition an paedophilia caused uproar two years ago, but in a rare interview he said the show had become "depressingly routine".
However, he also told the Guardian he was "staggered" by the gullibility of the celebrities who took part.
"You should only do it if you think you're going to fail, otherwise the whole thing becomes depressingly routine," he said
And he added that he was unlikely to tackle the war on Iraq because commentators had given the subject some thought.
"The very specific nature of Brass Eye is in identifying a thoughtless, knee-jerk reaction to an issue," he said. "If you deal with drugs or paedophilia, then you're dealing with something where people's brains are nowhere near the point of debate.
"That's why you can get them to say that paedophiles are like crabs, because they've never given the subject any thought. People are thinking quite seriously about the war on terror. "
Morris has been nominated for a Bafta this weekend for his first short film, My Wrongs 8245-8249 and 117.
