800 name their comedy faves
Almost 800 people have had their say in this year's Chortle awards.
The votes will now be counted to decide the winner of the People's Choice award, as well as which venues will triumph in each region of Britain.
Our judging panel has also finished their deliberations in the other categories, and the shortlists will be announced here at 4pm on Monday.
Winners will be announced at a London ceremony hosted by Barry Cryer on February 24.
The votes have also been used to build up a picture of Chortle's readers - and the sort of people likely to have an interest in comedy.
Four out of five of our readers are simply fans of comedy. A further ten per cent describe themselves as amateur comedians, with professional comics and other industry folk each representing a further five per cent each.
Male readers by far outnumber women almost two to one - 63 per cent compared to 37 per cent. The average age is 29, with just six per cent over the age of 45, and our readers go out on average 2.25 times a week.
Our readership is also fairly evenly distributed between die-hard comedy fans who check the site once a day, and casual visitors who pop in once every blue moon. The average time between visits is around 11 days, but there are around 2,700 people who visit every day.
Chortle is also well-received by visitors - 86 per cent saying they found it 'very good' or 'excellent'.
