Leary to make cartoons from stand-up

Denis Leary has signed a deal for two new comedy shows for American TV.

Comedy Central has given the green light to pilot episodes of both projects from the comic's company Apostle Pictures.

One untitled show will take routines from stand-up comedians and play them out as animated sketches.

The other, provisionally called The Lenny & Adam Show, is an improvised sitcom. It will star Lenny Clarke and Adam Ferrara, who appear with Leary on his police comedy-drama The Job.

Leary will write the show, as well as produce it, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
