British manga sitcom in the pipeline

A British manga artist has created a new animated sitcom described as Pokemon meets Terry and June.

Larry Bundy Jnr's Natural Born Kittens is now being made by Absolutely Productions, the company behind Trigger Happy TV.

The show is about four half-human, half-cat demons who were accidentally resurrected by the British Museum and are now going through their difficult teenage years in Northwood, a typical sitcom suburb.

But rather than pitching the idea direct to broadcasters, the producers, backed by a Japanese animation company, will make the entire series first, which they will then try to sell as a finished product.

Bundy said: " Stations are far more likely to buy a show if they don't have to pay for its production. It also means we don't have to conform to their rules and regulations, and can have the show on more than one channel."

For more information on the show, there's an official website at www.naturalbornkittens.com
