Comic in hospital with breathing problems

Norman Wisdom has been admitted to hospital with breathing problems.

But the 87-year-old comic insisted that his fans need not worry that he was taken to Epsom General Hospital in Surrey

He told the Sunday People: "I'm just in for a check-up and I'm hoping the doctors will let me out very soon."

A friend said: "It looks like he might have to stay in hospital over Christmas while tests are carried out.

"He does have some medical problems at the moment but is going for long walks in the grounds each morning so he can't be too ill.
