BBC2's ratings drive
New full-length episodes of Marion and Geoff are among the highlights of BBC2's new winter schedule, unveiled today.
The ten-minute shorts have been developed into a series of full half-hour monolgoues for the channel's new line-up.
And Keith Barrat, played by Rob Brydon, has gone up in the world - he is no longer a mini-cab driver but chauffeur to a lonely heiress and dysfunctional child.
However, an unfortunate "incident" means that his own "little smashers" are now in the sole custody of their mother, Marion, and partner Geoff.
Also in the new schedules is a series of DoubleTake, the topical sketch show featuring grainy footage of celebrity lookalikes, whose pilot episode won a Bafta for most innovative programme.
Paul Whitehouse also returns for a second series of his fortysomething comedy-drama Happiness, co-starring Johnny Vegas, with guest appearances from Kathy Burke, Ricky Gervais, Donna Air and Tony Parsons.
As previously reported on Chortle, Scottish stand-up showcase The Live Floor Show is also coming to BBC2.
And Shooting Stars, Never Mind The Buzzcocks and The Kumars at Number 42 are all returning, too.
