Starr axes another show
Freddie Starr has pulled out of a sell-out show... because of vertigo.
Around 800 fans turned up to his show in York, only to find a notice telling them the show was cancelled.
He told theatre bosses he could not go on stage because he had run out of pills to control his dizziness.
It is the second time this month Starr has disappointed his fans. A fortnight ago, he walked off stage just 20 minutes into his Unwrapped show in Retford, Nottingham.
And it's the fourth time in many years that the comic has cancelled his show in York alone.
Starr, 58, pulled out of the show in York's Grand Opera House just 90 minutes before the curtain was due to go up.
The theatre's deputy general manager Richard Evans told The Yorkshire Evening Press: "It is sad, but Freddie really was ill. He was unable to get up off the floor of his hotel room."
Fan Jimmy Heselden, 54, said: "We were really disappointed."
