Unseen Fast Show Live for DVD

The stage version of The Fast Show is to be released on DVD.

The team's farewell tour comes to an end in London's Brixton Academy on Novmeber 28, but now the BBC is issuing the last live show on disc.

Paul Whitehouse, Charlie Higson, John Tompson and Co broke box-office records when they performed their catchphrase-driven sketches at the Hammersmith Apollo in 1998.

Around 115,000 people came to the month-long run, presented as a double bill with Shooting Stars.

The show featured 52 wigs, 84 costumes and 47 scenes, and 30,000 bottles of lager were consumed by the cast and 48-strong backstage crew.

Never screened on TV, the 82-minute disc will be released by BBC Worldwide on November 18, priced £15.99. The DVD contains no extra features.
