Chubby's back

Brown hits the road after cancer ordeal

Roy 'Chubby' Brown has returned to the stage after seven months off for throat cancer treatment.

The foul-mouthed comic made his comeback in Blackpool last week, but cut the show short.

He played his second date in York last night, and is scheduled to play a demanding schedule in his Resurrection Tour up to Christmas.

On his website, Brown, 57, wrote: "Thank you very much for everyone who was at my first gig back in Blackpool for being so understanding.

"Tonight was very probably the hardest and biggest night of my career. You were a great crowd, not only was it my first date back but it was also the first night for a lot of new material.

"Seven months off with cancer has obviously taken its toll, so tonight was a big step back on the road to full recovery. So please everybody be patient with me

"I am trying my best to get back to full fitness and the only way I can do this is to get out there and put it all on the line in front of you people."
