Character forming
Details of more new League of Gentlemen characters have emerged.
Newcomers to Royston Vasey in the next series will include inept amateur magician Dean Tavalouris and Neds, a backwards character obsessed with
Knight Rider and building his own crimefighting car
Other include and Kenny Harris, who runs the Dog Cinema, which only shows films that feature canines, and is arch-enemy, cat-lover Dougal Siepp, to be played by Chistopher Eccleston.
Ken Loach's gritty movie Raining Stones inspired another pair of creations -
ineffectual debt collectors Glen and Big Barry.
The characters are unveiled in the new edition of the Radio Times, and the new series starts on September 26.
It has previously been revealed that instead of the sketch format, most of each episode in the new series will concentrate on one character.
Yet all the storylines will converge on the same as-yet unknown event.
Fans will be disappointed that creations such as the toad-loving Dentons, Hillary Briss the butcher and the local shop will not feature - although Tubbs and Edward do make an appearance.
West End play Art is to end its seven-year run after the League Of Gentlemen end their stint in the title roles in January. Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith take their roles on October 14. Click here for tickets
