Raiders hit Mortimer's home

Raiders have stuck at Bob Mortimer's house, escaping with a £50,000 haul.

Paintings, clothes and a mobile phone were among the items grabbed from the comic's family home near Ashford, Kent.

Mortimer was said to be very upset, although he was not in the house at the time.

He shares the £400,000 home with his partner Lisa Matthews and their two children - Harry, four, and Tom, three.

Kent Police told The Mirror that some property has been recovered from a car after it was stopped and searched.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with possessing stolen goods.
