TV show cages its comics

Some of Britain's newest comedy talent is to be showcased on a new ITV2 series.

Gagging For It features sketches, gags and stunt - plus a gongshow-style stand-up strand.

Some of those involved in the show have never attempted comedy before, and producers promise it will be "young, gritty, fast-paced and edgy".

A central part of the show, which airs from September, is a segment in which comedy acts are confined in a giant cage, and have three minutes to win over an audience without being forced off.

The section will be filmed in a remote barn near Gatwick airport.

LWT's Harry Harold, who's working on the show, said: "We really have a good range of original talent, and it promises to be a unique, diverse and entertaining experience."

Producers are seeking audience members to shout down the acts they don't like. For details of how to get free tickets, click here. Coaches will be provided from central London.
