Britain exports show to US

The Kumars at No. 42 is to be exported to the US.

But in the American version, the family won't be Indian - but Mexican.

The NBC network has won a bidding war for the format of BBC2's hit comedy - owned by Hat Trick Productions - seeing off competition from Rupert Murdoch's Fox.

Though a title has not yet been chosen, a pilot episode is in the pipeline, according to trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter,

The spoof chat show is expected to be shot in a Latino district of Los Angeles.
