Sorry start
Phill Jupitus says his first words on the BBC's new digital; radio station will be to apologise.
As breakfast host, the comic will be the first voice heard on 6 Music when it launches on March 11.
"Unless, of course, Greg Dyke walks in wanting to make some sort of statement to the nation," he joked, adding: "I'll probably start by apologising."
As for the first record, that will be up to the listeners, who can register their choice at the website.
"I can't wait to see what they come up with," said Phill, who says his own favourite band is Madness.
He said the show will be an energetic "get-up show, a roller-coaster ride for the emotions".
"Some records can really stir you in the morning. Safe European Home by the Clash - people should have that instead of an alarm clock."
