Johnny pens comedy drama

Johnny Vegas has written a comedy-drama for Radio 4.

He penned the show with Tony Pitts, who played Archie in Emmerdale, and Tony Burgess.

Vegas revealed the deal at the Brit awards, where he presented the Best Female Artist award to Dido.

He told The Daily Express: "It's been a real experience for me because I've always been used to writing material for myself. One of the weirdest things is writing a script for a woman because I have no idea about the way they think, so I can't write about girlie stuff."

Vegas - who will also appear on another Radio 4 show as a holiday worker - could not say who was up for parts in his drama.
