Phill's brekkie show on Radio 6

Phill Jupitus is to host the breakfast show on the BBC's new national radio station - 6 Music.

The digital channel will be the corportation's first new national music radio station to launch for more than 30 years.

The station - which had been provisionally titled Network Y - will launch on March 11

Fellow comedians Craig Charles and Sean Hughes, who appears opposite Jupitus on never Mind The Buzzcocks, will also have shows.

Suggs, Bruce Dickinson, Tom Robinson, Janice Long, Bob Harris and Stuart Maconie are also among the presenters on 6 Music, which promises a "hip, credible" mix of music from the last 40 years.

The channel will be available through digital radio, digital satellite and online
