Radio 4 celebrates the double act

A new Radio 4 show is to examine the comic tradition of the double act.

The series kicks off on February 12 with Bud Flanagan and Chesney Allen, pictured, who teamed up in the Twenties in Florrie Forde's Flo and Co Revue.

The double act, with the Crazy Gang, was one of Britain's top theatrical attractions by the mid-Thirties.

Presenter Stuart Maconie will also celebrate the careers od Jimmy Jewel and Ben Warris, Michael Flanders and Donald Swann, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore and The Two Ronnies.

The show, Double Trouble, goes out on Tuesdays at 11.30am.
