Tips for Edinbugh-bound acts

Performers wanting to take a show to Edinburgh can pick up tips at a free roadshow launching this week.

Officials from the fringe will be offering advice on how acts can stand out from the 14,000 performers expected in the city this August.

The experts will be giving tips on finding a venue, accommodation, PR strategies and finding money to fund it all.

All groups who attend the roadshow can register to take their show to Edinburgh for free.

The dates are as follows, and anyone interested can just turn up on the day.

Friday January 18: Leeds West Yorkshire Playhouse, Playhouse Square. 6pm

Saturday January 19: Birmingham MAC, Cannon Hill Park. 2pm

Saturday January 19: Liverpool Unity Theatre, 1 Hope Place. 4.30pm

Sunday January 20: Newcastle Hyena Comedy Cafe. 2pm

Friday January 25: Oxford Playhouse, Beaumont Street. 5.30pm

Saturday January 26: Bath Theatre Royal, Sawclose. 2pm

Saturday January 26: Nottingham Playhouse, Wellington Circus. 4.30pm

Sunday January 27: London Pleasance. 2pm

Also in London, fringe director Paul Gudgin will be giving a talk at Amused Moose Soho on Sunday Januaty 27 at 6.30pm.
