Davies ditched

Abbey National's new ad campaign

Abbey National has ditched Alan Davies from its TV adverts.

The bank is instead using its own customers in the next campaign.

It says the comic is to be ditched from the long-running commercials as they want a new focus.

Abbey National marketing director Janet Connor said: "We're incredibly excited to be able to offer our customers the opportunity to be our brand ambassadors.

"It underpins our brand relaunch by showing our customers how much we value them."

Auditions for the ads kick off in Leeds next Saturday.
