Fry goes to Waugh

Stephen directs his first movie

Stephen Fry is to direct his first firm - an adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's novel Vile Bodies.

Shooting on the movie, to be called Bright Young Things, is expected to start in the spring.

He is currently casting the film, screendaily.com reports

Waugh's satire is set among the fashionable It crowd in Thirties Mayfair.

The project is part of a slate announced by British company Revolution Films. Other projects in the pipeline include a Michael Winterbottom film about the conflict in Afghanistan and an autobiographiy from artist Tracey Emin.
