New York run extended

The New York run of Dave Gorman? - Edinburgh Fringe 2000 at Chortle.co.uk">Are You Dave Gorman? has been extended by three weeks.

It was originally die to run at the Westbeth Theatre for six weeks and has attracted a host of good reviews and healthy ticket sales.

Writing on his website, which regularly updates fans about the progress of his shows, Gorman wrote: "I'm really flattered that the venue are prepared to show such faith in the show."

He added: "This week has probably seen the four most consistently enjoyable shows of the run. Each audience was different, but by the end of the show each night I felt very happy that, they had thoroughly entered in to the spirit of the show"

Gorman has also increased the tally of namesakes he has met during the New York run. The initial bet was to find 54, but now the total stands at 96.

The news comes days after Irish comedy group The Nualas also extended their stay in the Big Apple.
