Edmonson hurt in Bottom accident

Adrian Edmondson has been given stitches after Rik Mayall whacked him on the head with a bat.

Edmondson, 44, was treated for concussion after the accident, which happened during their touring version of Bottom at Southport.

Tour manager Ian Day said: "It was during a fight scene and Rik misjudged and hit Adrian on the head with the bat. He needed stitches, but the show will go on."

He added the pair are now reviewing parts of the show to prevent a repeat of the incident.
