Lily creator punches drunk lout

Lily Savage creator Paul O'Grady punched a drunken party-goer who was pestering Coronation Street actress Tracy Shaw, it has been reported.

The Scouse comic stepped in when the lout started pestering Shaw at the star-studded TV Quick Awards party in London's Dorchester Hotel on Monday Night.

Bouncers then threw the pest out, the Mirror reports.

O'Grady, 46, told the paper: "He thought I was a poof, but he didn't realise I was a boxer when I was a kid.

"He was stealing our drinks and being really rude to Tracy. He was behaving outrageously. I felt I had to protect her so I told him to go away, but he wouldn't. He obviously thought I was a wimp, but I showed him otherwise. I just punched him. You should have seen his face."

O'Grady said father taught him to box when he was 11.
