Davidson's £5k Tory gift

Jim backs Iain Duncan Smith

Jim Davidson has donated £5,000 to Iain Duncan Smith's Tory leadership campaign.

The Conservative-supporting host of BBC1's The Generation Game, said he thought IDS's more moderate rival, Ken Clarke, was "too old" to be Tory leader.

Davidson said: "I'm very worried about Europe, not just about losing the pound but about losing control. I'm a great believer in our system, I want us to be governed by the people we voted for.

"Iain, like me, he is very compassionate about the British forces. I have never been a fan of Ken's, I don't agree with what he stands for."

A spokesman for Mr Duncan Smith said: "We are very grateful for this donation from a true Conservative supporter."
