Plot lines revealed

The Simpsons are to parody Harry Potter, Erin Brockovich and 2001: A Space Odyssey in their next series.

The 13th season of the hit animated show will also feature guest stars Richard Gere, Pierce Brosnan and Seinfeld actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Executive producer Al Jean revealed details of upcoming episodes to Cinescape.

Other storylines will feature Homer getting his jaw wired shut and Bart creating an Internet cartoon based on his dad, which turns him into a global laughing stock

Also, Marge discovers that sugar companies are lacing Springfield's water supply and Homer becomes addicted to medicinal marijuana.
