Kiwi wins last Beeb semi

New Zealander Jarred Christmas has won the final semi-final in the BBC New Comedy hunt for the best stand-up.

He will now go through to the finals at the Edinburgh festival after taking the honours at London 's Comedy Store last night

It's the second competition final he will be competing in, having already won through to the last eight in the Daily Telegraph Open Mic competition. (story)

The remaining line-up for the BBC final at the Pleasance Dome on August 13 is Markus Birdman, Rob Deering, Alan Carr, Russell Howard, Michael Downey, Des Clarke, Keith Carter and Justin Moorhouse.

All the semis and the final will be screened on BBC Choice in August.
