Not Boris... but Harry Enfield as he reunites with Paul Whitehouse for BBC special

Here’s Harry Enfield as Boris Johnson in a new parody marking 100 years of the BBC.

He and Paul Whitehouse star in The Lovebox In Your Living Room, a fake social history documentary inspired by polemicist film-maker Adam Curtis.

It follows the success of Story Of The Twos, the fake celebration of BBC Two’s 50th birthday in 2014.

According to the BBC, ‘Harry and Paul tell the true story of Britain’s political and social evolution over the last century through the life of the BBC. By turning complete fictions into a staggering array of hard facts, they reveal details about the BBC that have been buried for decades, including that the German language version of The Archers was directly responsible for the death of Adolf Hitler.’

They are also joined by a guest cast that includes Catherine Shepherd, Rosie Cavaliero, Simon Greenall, Kevin Bishop, Seann Walsh and Kiell Smith-Bynoe.

The Lovebox In Your Living Room airs on BBC Two at 9pm on Thursday and follows Enfield’s return to Friday Night Live for Channel 4’s one-off this weekend – as well as Whitehouse’s fishing show with Bob Mortimer.

Here are just some of the scenes from the past century, as envisaged by the hour-long programme, which mixes sketches with real archive material.
