Win US stand-up CDs
Some of the leading cult American stand-ups have released their specials on CD this Christmas, and we have bundles of them to give away.
Each set comprises the latest titles by Lewis Black, Demetri Martin, George Lopez and Kyle Cease – all released on Comedy Central Records.
Black’s latest title is called in God We Rust, and was recorded at the State Theatre in Minneapolis. It features his usual cathartic rants about inept politicians and the shortcomings on technology. Although known for appearances on such TV shows as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, he is also one of the hardest-working comics in America, gigging more than 200 nights a year.
Former Perrier winner Martin’s second album is called simply Stand-up Comedian and contains more of his trademark deadpan one-liners and absurd observations, often incorporating music.
Lopez’s album, It’s Not Me, It’s You is his fifth since his debut Alien Nation in 1996 – but even then he had been a comedian for 13 years. His material about being a Mexican in America has landed him jobs co-hosting the Emmys and fronting his own family sitcom.
Cease is an absurdist comic who had his first Comedy Central special in 2007 – and two years later won the channel’s Stand-Up Showcase ahead of another 100 comics. His second release is called I Highly Recommend, features long-form storytelling and bizarre ideas.
We have three sets of all four titles to give away to Chortle readers. To stand a chance of winning one, answer the following question by 5pm on December 12, when we will select the winners from all correct answers received. Usual terms and conditions apply.
Good luck!
