Win Carrott gold

Jasper's early stand-up on DVD

Jasper Carrott’s first TV series has been released on DVD today – and we have five signed copies to give away.

After emerging from the folk circuit as a storytelling comedian far from the frilly-shirted joke-tellers of the day, Carrott was signed up for a six-part LWT series in 1978.

An Audience With Jasper Carrott contains some of his best-known work, such as the introduction of the word 'zit' into the British vocabulary, as he rants about everything from Spaghetti Junction to the Jersey constabulary.

Here are the opening few minutes:

Over his subsequent career, Carrott went on to win a Bafta for Carrott’s Lib and a lifetime achievement award at the 2008 British Comedy Awards. He has twice been voted TV Personality of the Year, and received an OBE in 2003 in recognition of his work for charity.

The 12-certificate DVD has been released by Network with an rrp of £14.99, but to stand a chance of winning one of our signed copies, just answer the following question by March 13, when we will pick the winner from all the correct answers received. Bulk and automated entries will be disqualified.
