Crying out for a winner...
The independent thriller Crying With Laughter – about a stand-up whose life has stopped being funny – is released on DVD today, and we have six copies to give away.
The film was named best film at the 2009 Scottish Baftas, and won the best feature film award at the Celtic Media Festival last year. Guardian critic Peter Brandshaw called it ‘a tasty slice of Edinburgh noir’
It is the debut feature of writer/director Justin Molotnikov and stars Stephen McCole as comedian Joey Frisk and Malcolm Shields as Frank Archer, the former friend who reappears in Joey’s life.
The two-disc DVD also includes several bonus features, including a commentary, a Making Of documentary, a round-table discussion about the film and deleted scenes.
