Win the Chaplin film they are all talking about...

Newly-restored Circus out soon

It is the movie that has sparked an internet phenomenon: Did Charlie Chaplin really manage to capture on film a woman speaking on a mobile phone?

Now, after Chaplin buff George Clarke made the discovery on a previous release of The Circus, comes a new version of the classic 1928 film – restored in high definition and released on DVD and Blu-Ray dual edition. And to celebrate, we have three copies to give away.

Our winners will also receive a copy of the classic City Lights from 1931, also newly restored in HD. This features The Tramp falling in love with a beautiful, blind flower girl, whose family is in financial trouble. When he learns that an operation may restore the girl’s sight, he sets off to earn the money she needs to have surgery.

In the Circus, The Tramp is chased into a big top by the police, who think he is a pickpocket, but when the audience see him they are amused by his antics, and he’s immediately hired by the ringmaster. Please note that this version does not contain the footage from the premiere said to feature the mobile phone scene.

Both titles are due for release on November 15, with an rrp of £19.99 (pre order here). Also released on the same day is The Chaplin Revue, which features three classic shorts - A Dog's Life (1918), Shoulder Arms (1918) and The Pilgrim (1923) - put together to form a single feature length film with new music, narration and connecting material.

To stand a chance of winning one of our great prizes, just answer the following question by November 22, when we will select our winner from all correct answers received. Bulk entries will be disqualified.
