American: The Bill Hicks Story has been released on DVD on and Blu-ray, today – and we have six copies to give away, as well as an exclusive clip.

The documentary uses new animation techniques to tell Hicks’s story, from when he began performing at the age of 13, to life as a road comic. to his ‘discovery’ by British TV at the Montreal Just For Laughs festival and his early death from pancreatic cancer.

On its cinema release, the movie become one of the top three documentaries of the year, while extras on the new disc include more than three hours of extended interviews with his his family and friends about Hicks and what motivated him as well as 30 minutes of unseen footage and rare clips from Bill’s career.

It also includes six deleted scenes, including this one – exclusive to Chortle:
