Rhys Thomas and Stephen Mangan are starring in a new comedy movie about a pair of hapless Arctic explorers – and there’s a free, exclusive screening for Chortle readers in London next week.

Beyond The Pole is described as ‘Withnail And I on ice’ and revolves around an attempt to make the first carbon neutral, vegetarian, organic expedition to the North Pole – by two amateur adventurers who have never attempted anything like this before.

The film also stars Helen Baxendale, Mark Benton, Rosie Cavaliero, Patrick Baladi and Zoe Telford – and we’ve found this bootleg trailer on YouTube:

A private screening of Beyond The Pole comes during the London UK Film Focus industry event – which is usually the exclusive preserve of overseas movie distributors. But Chortle readers are invited to the screening at the National Film Theatre on the South Bank, which is also expected to be attended by some of the cast and friends.

The screening takes place at 2pm on Wednesday July 1 – and to attend, please email your name and ticket request to info@shootingpictures.co.uk with the subject line: Beyond The Pole Chortle Screening by 5pm on June 30. Maximum four tickets per person, and the offer is limited by the capacity of the cinema. Admission will only be granted to those who receive email confirmation back.
