Win DVD of silent short classics

Ten Harold Lloyd shorts will be released on British DVD for the first time on Monday – and we have five copies to give away.

Lloyd was one of the most popular and influential comedians of the silent film era, alongside Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. He made almost 200 comedy films and is best remembered for his daredevil stunts, which he often performed himself.

He was well-known for his ‘Glasses’ character, an all-American boy whose signature was a simple pair of horn-rimmed glasses.

The new short film collection, out on Cinema Club, inlcudes: Two Gun Gussie, The City Slicker, The Non-Stop Kid, Ring Up The Curtain, Captain Kidd’s Kids, From Hand To Mouth, Get Out And Get Under, High And Dizzy, Now Or Never and Among Those Present.

The PG-rated set sells at £19.99, but to stand a chance of winning one of our five copies, just answer the following question by April 30, when the winner will be chosen at random from all correct answers received. Entries from automated mailing systems will be disqualified.

Good luck!

In the iconic image of Lloyd from his 1923 classic Safety First, from what is he precariously dangling?
