Mark Allen's Quite Good Britain Show type: Edinburgh Fringe 2006
Mark Allen's Quite Good Britain

Did you know that in 2007, Great Britain will be exactly 300 years old? The thing is, there are no official plans to celebrate and I feel mildly cheated by that. Maybe it's another sign of the British identity crisis. Well if that's the case, I'm not having it.

So far, I've been willing to overlook the fact that our monarchy is German, our national motto is French and our national animal is from Africa - that's just quirky - but when the people of Great Britain are denied a legitimate excuse for a party, it's gone too far.

Join me for an hour of comedy to decide is Britain still 'Great' or would 'Quite Good' be more appropriate?"
