With regards to the notion that Joanna Neary has to resort to impressions to fill an hour, the reviewer should have attended or make plans to attend one of Miss Neary's many Brighton festival shows, which have often run to an hour and forty minutes length, climaxing with an audience whooping, braying and crying with laughter. Each year she has presented mostly new material to sell-out houses at the Komedia. I can think of no other character comedienne so original or with so fertile an imagination. And I can think of none who can keep an audience laughing for so long. But then I am biased - I write her songs.
