It sounds to me that the kind of clubs Lee Ness has performed in are working men's clubs that require skill and a lot of courage. In the normal rowdy clubs the type of humour used by comedians must be very sharp, perfect timing, confidence, with traditional classic british humour. The problem with these relaxed audiences is they are being very unfair to the comedian on the stage. If the comic on the stage is not winning the crowd they will still let him/her carry on until the end. This does not build the comedian with the strength and knowledge that his act is poor that every comedian needs to know.
