John Moloney Live

Show Rating:John Moloney Live rated 2/5

Moloney's methodical approach and self-deprecating start endears him to an audience, and his relaxed pace was nicely gentle.

He warms the audience with a bit of banter, then embarks on his routines about he Royal family, being stoned, and other such everyday, mundane (some may say well-worn) topics.

He talks about his childhood, his likes, dislikes and the fact that he was a German teacher. It's all fine and amusing - and laughter was by no means absent - but the pace never picked up.

However, it all seemed a bit self-indulgent, and I just couldn't warm to such a deadpan comedian talking about himself constantly for the best part of an hour.
