And the 2013 winners are...
Stewart Lee, Richard Herring and Tony Law were all double winners at tonight’s Chortle Awards.
Lee and Herring both scooped a double thanks to the release of their Nineties BBC Two show Fist Of Fun taking the best DVD title.
Lee also won the best tour award for his current stand-up show, Carpet Remnant World, while Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast won the Internet Award.
Edinburgh Fringe favourite Tony Law was won best club comic and best show for Maximum Nonsense.
Ray Galton & Alan Simpson, who wrote for Tony Hancock and Steptoe and Son won the lifetime achievement award.
Other winners on the night included The Thick Of It, Radio 4 comedy series John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme and American comedian Louis CK, taking the innovation award for cutting out the middle man in selling downloads of his shows direct to the public.
The Chortle Comedy Awards took place in Cafe De Paris in London, hosted by Jo Brand and sponsored by Universal Pictures (UK).
Celebrities in attendance included Omid Djalili, Bill Oddie, Harry Enfield, Helen Flanagan, and Lee Ryan and Duncan James from Blue.
The winners are chosen by a public vote from a shortlist drawn up by a panel of comedy reviewers. The full list is:
