New series for C5

Paul Merton is to front a new travelogue series for Channel 5.

Over six hour-long episodes, the have I Got News For You star will discover some ‘unusual retreats’, according to the broadcaster.

Paul Merton Great Escapes is one of several new commissions the station revealed today, as it prepares for a relaunch.

Mindreader Philip Escoffey has also landed his own show for Channel 5, with the six-part series Impossible to air late in the spring.

The Edinburgh favourite will take on couples in a game show format, taking on seemingly impossible challenges with contestants able to win a possible £40,000 prize.
