British Comedy Awards: The winners
Outnumbered was the big winner at the British Comedy Awards, scooping three awards including the new gong for best comedy.
The part-improvised BBC One comedy won best sitcom, best female newcomer for child star Ramona Marquez and the overall best comedy prize.
Harry Hill scooped two awards – as predicted by the bookies – for best entertainment personality and best entertainment programme for TV Burp - the third time in four years.
Michael McIntyre won best stand-up, saying: ‘This is the one I really wanted.’
Jonathan Ross was back presenting the awards after missing last year's show because of the ’Sachsgate’ scandal, and he made several jokes about the new compliance culture in broadcasting.
He said: ‘The producers have been through the script. It's been scrutinised more thoroughly than Tiger Woods' mobile phone bill.
Sir Terry Wogan, who has just retired from his Radio 2 breakfast show this month, was honoured with a lifetime achievement award.
And the outstanding contribution to comedy award went to Peter Kay.
