Half-hour pilot for Sky1

James Corden is to host a new comedy sports panel show for Sky1.

The Gavin & Stacey will act as ‘referee’ in A League Of Their Own, with teams led by Ashes hero Stuart Broad and former England footballer Jamie Redknapp.

A half-hour pilot episode is to be filmed by production company CPL this weekend, and will air later this year.

A Sky spokesman said: ‘ Featuring physical challenges, the latest technology, comedians and celebrity guests plus cameo appearances from the biggest names in sport make A League Of Their Ow the perfect platform for one-upmanship and banter.’

Executive producer Danielle Lux added: ‘A League of Their Own is an Olympic standard comedy show for anyone who loves their sport and a fun-filled half hour for those who don’t.’
