Action-comedy from Anchorman director

Steve Coogan has joined the cast of buddy cop film The Other Guys.

The Alan Partridge star will play a villain in the action-comedy movie, pitted against police duo Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.

The star-studded cast also includes Dwayne Johnson, aka wrestler The Rock, and Samuel L. Jackson as elite cops, as well as Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton and Damon Wayans Jr.

Anchorman director Adam McKay is at the helm, and he co-wrote the script with Chris Henchy, whose credits include Entourage.

The movie is due out in September next year.
