Vic Reeves is working on a new sitcom about superheroes.

He is writing scripts with Bob Mortimer, which he hopes will be picked up by a broadcaster.

The revelation came during a trip to the North East, where Reeves was visiting the man who once trained him to be a mechanical engineer, to help publicise national Apprenticeship Week.

He told local newspaper The Journal: ‘We’re working on a sitcom. It’s about Superheroes who get skills through a telegraph pole that malfunctions and they go around helping people in their local community.’

Reeves also said he was hoping to revive his Shooting Stars panel show, but added: ‘It depends on the BBC.’
