BBC3 plans comedy variety show
BBC Three is set to launch a Friday Night Live-style comedy and entertainment show.Channel controller Danny Cohen said he wanted such a programme to nurture new talent in the same way The 11 O'Clock Show launched the careers of Ricky Gervais and Sacha Baron Cohen.
The controller told TV industry website BroadcastNow that it would help build BBC Three's entertainment output and attract younger viewers.
