Langham denies theatre assault

Actor enters his pleas

Chris Langham has denied indecently assaulting a young girl at a West End theatre.

The star of The Thick Of It appeared in Maidstone Crown Court today to face one charge of buggery and eight counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16 between April 1994 and 1998.

One of the alleged offences involved the girl performing oral sex on him at the Palace Theatre on London's Shaftsbury Avenue, the court heard. It is the first time this detail of the case against him has been made public

Langham is also accused of 15 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child between September and November 2005. These are the charges usually associated with the downloading of images from the internet.

The actor replied ‘not guilty’ when each charge was put to him at the hearing.
