Impress the TV bigwigs

A unique chance for stand-ups to shine

Chortle is offering three up-and-coming stand-ups the chance to perform in front of some of the biggest movers and shakers in TV comedy.

The selected acts will be invited to take to the stage at Broadcast magazine's annual TV Comedy Forum, attended by producers, commissioners, agents and an impressive line-up of comedy legends.

As well as offering a chance to impress, visitors to the event – including our winners – will gain a unique insight into the workings of TV comedy, with discussions on the latest commissioning trends, an enviable opportunity to network with the industry bigwigs, and a chance to put your questions to your comedy heroes.

Joining chairman Jon Plowman on stage will be the likes of Harry Enfield, Graham Linehan, Frankie Boyle, My Family creator Fred Barron and Armstrong and Miller.

To have a chance appearing before the illustrious TV industry audience, upload a clip of your comedy on to YouTube, or similar video-sharing site, and email the link to event producer Daniel Brain at daniel.brain@emap.com by September 4.

Broadcast and Chortle will choose the top three acts to compete for the TV Comedy Forum stand-up crown during the forum. On the day, the acts will be judged by Jimmy Carr’s agent Hannah Chambers, Heat magazine editor Boyd Hilton and How Not To Live Your Life producer Gary Reich

The event takes places at Soho Theatre, London, on September 23, and Chortle readers are eligible for a £50 discount if booked before September 11, reducing it to £397 for independents. The ticket price includes a year’s free subscription to Broadcast magazine. Visit www.tvcomedyforum.comfor more details.
